About scenarios.wtfINFO-0001

About the Project

scenarios.wtf is a minimalist, text-based moral and situational opinion game. Read high-drama situations, cast your vote, and find out if your instincts align with the rest of the internet.

Why scenarios.wtf?

The modern web is full of high-friction social feeds, complex algorithms designed to keep you scrolling, and mandatory user registrations. scenarios.wtf strips all of that noise away.

We wanted to return to a simpler era of the internet: short, text-based scenarios, high-drama scenarios, and instant feedback. No logins, no profiles, just human judgment.

How it works

We split our dilemmas into five distinct categories to cover all facets of everyday human friction:

  • AITA (Am I The Asshole?): Moral dilemmas, wedding drama, and deep relationship conflicts.
  • AIO (Am I Overreacting?): Small communication flare-ups, text response friction, and everyday overthinking.
  • Red Flag or Pass: Weird dating habits, early warning signs, and odd partner behaviors.
  • Petty or Valid: Low-stakes disputes, neighbor etiquette, and minor daily annoyances.
  • Quitting Material: Boss nightmares, startup nightmares, and toxic office environments.

Our Core Principles

  • Zero Friction: No registration, no onboarding, no passwords. Open the tab, cast a vote, and see where you stand.
  • No Algorithm: Scenarios are served uniformly to everyone. We do not track your tastes to build a profile or create a filter bubble.
  • Local Persistence: Your voting history is stored entirely in your browser's `localStorage` so that you don't see duplicate scenarios and can track your statistics privately.

Easter Eggs & Mini-Games

We like to keep things fun. If you ever happen to get lost or run into an error page (like a 404), we have integrated a series of classic mini-games... including Snake, Simon Says, Blackjack, and Tic Tac Toe so you can stay entertained while you find your way back to the main game.

Made by a solo developer for fun. Thanks for playing!
